Before purchasing please note:
Margilan silk is produced in Uzbekistan in cottage industry settings, and is woven from untwisted threads. Each batch will have a slightly different uniformity.
All quoted weights and measurements are approximate.
A constant width is not maintained along the length it may vary from 87 - 90 cm
This silk has an uneven weave throughout, and there may be parts with snags and weaker spots. This is not a fault, it is a result of how it is produced. Any imperfections will disappear into the surface of the felt.
This is the lightest weight of the Margilan Silk collection - 8g per square metre.
Also know as gossamer or butterfly silk.
Ideal for Nuno felting, scrunched up it will give surface texture.
